Shasuki is yet another Japanese restaurant serving Shabu Shabu, Sushi and Teppanyaki altogether in one place. It has been operating since January 2014, and I have read/heard many good comments about it, so some weeks ago I paid a visit just out of curiosity. Shasuki is located on the LG floor of Bintaro Jaya Xchange mall, another mall that I frequently visited recently, and to my surprise, the place is quite big and very spacious, with beautiful interior design and decoration, as well as nice glass windows all around.
As they serve variety of Japanese food, we can choose between All You Can Eat (AYCE) package or stick with a la carte menu. The AYCE package includes shabu-shabu (seafood, meat, meatballs, veggies), sushi, teppanyaki, tempura, drinks, desserts, etc. During my last visit, luckily there was a promotion going on, and the price was ridiculously cheap for an AYCE package: IDR 110K/person (tax and service charge included!). I heard that the normal price is IDR 145K/person (tax included) and I even thought that it is already so cheap considering the variety of food included in the package.
The ingredients for the shabu shabu was very fresh and appealing, judging from the colors (both meat and veggies). Usually I don’t like this kind of shabu shabu place because the ingredients (especially seafood) looks gross and slimy, but here it wasn’t. As for the soup, we can choose two different ones in one hot pot, so I opted for regular chicken stock and spicy tom yam soup for the other side. Honestly, I have tried better ones so I don’t have any compliment about the soup. The spicy tom yam soup was nice, but had a weird taste afterwards.
We also had chance to try one of a la carte sushi menu, Spicy Salmon Roll (IDR 33K) that was given for free by the manager (thank you!). The sushi was pretty decent, nice sushi rice with right amount of vinegar and good consistency, and the salmon was torch-burnt perfectly. It got me curious with the rest of their sushi rolls menu, though. Maybe next time.

Shasuki offers something that is probably not so new, but dining in there, I felt sense of happiness and comfort, which was probably caused by the serene, calm surroundings. I don’t know if I come back again during peak hours or busier weekend, but I think I fell in love to the place the moment I stepped in. And again, their package price is like, super duper cheap, so why not? 🙂

Unfortunately, Shasuki is already closed by the end of 2014. Dunno what’s the reason..
Maybe because there’s is Sushi Tei that more famous than this Japanese Restaurant..
