Kemang has always been one of our favorite areas to find good food, and recently we found a restaurant named Sperta, which is the main restaurant of grandkemang Hotel in the heart of Kemang. Sperta is grandkemang’s all-day dining restaurant serving international and Indonesian specialties, as well as a wide selection of Asian favorites. The restaurant is located on the lobby level, easily accessible from the main entrance. Sperta restaurant is quite spacious and with so many tables available, I reckon they have large seating capacity probably more than 100. The buffet tables are presented all around the room with different stations for different categories. As for the venue, you can choose to dine in the indoor seating area or the outdoor pool side area.

We were here this time trying their exquisite Sunday Brunch buffet that is available every Sunday at 12PM to 3PM for only IDR 325,000++/person. Family with children, be joyful because children with heights below 110 cm gets to dine for FREE! And children with heights between 110 cm – 140 cm gets 50% off, good deal yeah?

The menu includes European specialties with a spread of Asian cuisine and cuisine from the Western Carving Station, Italian Pasta Corner, Dim Sum Station and Sushi Sashimi Corner, as well as Indonesian favorites, a wide selection of French bread and cheese, desserts and pastries, and a beverage station. If you need a recommendation: food from the Raclette Cheese Corner complemented with Parma ham selections is the talk of the town.

I am not going to talk a lot here, but I hope you all can see from the pictures why we think Sperta is underrated. People need to know about this place and you should check it out especially if you are looking for a worthy hotel buffet package!

We find it interesting that they have these 2 “gerobak” (Indonesian traditional-style of food cart commonly seen in the streets), in one corner of the room. Both carts serving Indonesian comfort food, I don’t know if they change the menus everyday, but during our visit, one cart was serving rice with various dishes like perkedel kentang, dendeng, and many more; while the other cart was serving Soto Mie Bogor. Frankly speaking, I wouldn’t normally recommend eating Soto Mie Bogor in a hotel restaurant but theirs is actually quite good. The only thing I didn’t really like is that the soup was too oily for my liking, but I would give it another shot if I come back here next time.

Beside the carts, there is a small buffet table which is actually a separated station for Pork-related dishes. They don’t have many variety here, but glad they still have this section! However, we secretly wished that the area could get some kind of better view so people can notice that this station exists. XD

So basically we took everything in every station just to taste all of them. Generally, the food they serve are good, better than our expectations. The ingredients are well-chosen, food are well-cooked and flavorful, and with that many variety, there’s always something for everyone on the table. However, some were a bit off, for example, the sushi and sashimi didn’t look so inviting, probably because they had been in open air for quite sometime. Seafood on ice were good, and I ended up finishing a plateful of them. Pasta and Pizza station is one of the highlights of the buffet, with variety of fresh pasta made by order and they have really nice Bolognese or Tomato Basil sauce for that!

Last but not least, DESSERTS! Here they are served in the Sparca Lounge which is interconnecting with the restaurant. From beautiful cakes and puddings to made-by-order pancakes with choices of toppings, you can have them all! I wish that they also have Indonesian traditional snacks and desserts, though. However, enjoying these desserts while sipping a cup of hot tea or coffee sitting by the pool seems like a perfect idea to spend our Sunday here.

Beside the regular Sunday Brunch, this time we also tried their Traditional Roasted Butterball Turkey, as main of their highlights for Thanksgiving Dinner Buffet on this coming 28 November 2019, starts from 6PM to 10PM.

In conclusion, the Sunday Brunch we experienced here at Sperta is awesome! We were literally surprised to see the variety they have, we just didn’t expect a large spread like it is. The food qualities are definitely good, and if you are looking for a cozy place to spend your lovely moments with your family or friends, this place is for you. With an affordable package, you can also enjoy the buffet as well as staycation in the grandkemang Hotel, just check their website for details. Definitely a keeper!
