Yesterday, I visited Glosis branch in Kota Kasablanka mall. Honestly, it was my first time going to that mall (shame, shame!) and I was quite impressed by the wide selections of food inside. It is like another version of Puri Indah Mall, but better and classier. We walked around and spotted some interesting places before finally decided to stop by Glosis, but I guess because I somehow remember that this restaurant has been around for quite long, I wanted to bring Mr. K and mister to try it.
The restaurant is located in the Food Society, which is apparently the large block of food court in the mall. The place is divided into two sections, one is inside area with warm rustic traditional Western interior and the outside area which looks more modern. I especially love the decoration in the inside dining room with lots of old Western posters in frame, some with provocative arts and wordings.
When I was a kid, there used to be a steak restaurant named Glosis, and I used to go there maybe once or twice. To be honest, I don’t really remember the taste nor the food, but well, I just remember that it used to be considered as a good restaurant which served great steaks. This Glosis serves steaks and sausages, and judging from my experience yesterday, it could actually be the same with the old Glosis that I knew in the past.
Grilled Tenderloin Steak (Local) IDR 86K
I liked the steak because although it wasn’t too thick, but the meat was very tender and juicy. The mushroom sauce also suited the meat and given generously. And for a local beef, it was quite surprising that it was that good.
Chicken Steak IDR 58K
This is supposed to be their bestseller but I really didn’t get it. The steak was wide and huge (a bit plus point when it was served), the chicken had a frozen smell like it had been kept in the freezer for quite sometime. Then the mashed potato had dough-like texture, very sticky and tasted weird. The so-called white sauce wasn’t any help, either. I had no idea what the taste was and it was just weird.
This branch is halal because they serve no pork, but I heard that some other branches (like the one in Puri Indah Mall) serve pork menu, so maybe next time I will visit again and try the pork or the sausage.

Glosis atmosphere was comfortable enough and I like their posters (chair was sucks).
Grilled Tenderloin Steak was うまい(umai=OK, nice) even though thin but juicy and tasty. I enjoyed it.
For the Chicken Steak it was like…………. WTH?!?!? It looks like chicken with bread crumb but it taste like fried bread crumb on not sure what meat it is with little hint of chiken and lots of margarine, and mash potato was like potato flavored edible Play Doh.
Overall service was good and staff were polite and kind and price were average mall restaurant price.
