THE BLOG
Food Escape is founded on November 2010 by Daisy Caroline & Yu Kato, who share the same passion about enjoying food and taking photos of them.Food Escape started as a food blog that basically reviews places where we visit and food we eat. As a couple, we didn’t get much time together back then. We were living in relatively long-distance places, she was in med school, he was working in only-God-knows-where island in Sumatera. We normally went out and visited many restaurants, taking photos, and one day, we looked at those photos on the computer, and the idea to start Food Escape popped up just like that.
And… the rest is the history.
This blog, although far from perfect, has the contents that really come from our hearts, be it the writing or the photography. We are not professionals in these writing and photography fields, but we always continue trying our best to provide the most accurate, informative, and honest thoughts in every posts that we create.
PHOTOGRAPHY
Mostly all photos here on this blog are taken by Kato. When Daisy goes alone, she does the shots as well.
He had been using many types of camera from Sony NEX-5A, Olympus E720, Canon 60D, Nikon D300s, Fuji Film X100, Fuji Film XF-1, Pentax QS-1, and Panasonic Lumix GX7, and Nikon Df.
Due to some ridiculous regulations of some restaurants that don’t allow photos-taking, we stick to phones instead, and we have been using iPhone 4s and 5s, Sony Xperia Z1, Xiaomi Mi3, Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Prime, OnePlus One, iPhone 6+, and iPhone 7+.
Nowadays, Kato uses his weapon, Nikon D850 with following lenses:
– Nikon 50mm f/1.8 E

– Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 G
– Nikon 16-85mm f/3.5-5.6 G
– Voigtlander Color Skopar 20mm f/3.5 SL II
– Voigtlander Color Skopar 40mm f/2.0 SL II
– Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 28-300mm f/3.5-
Daisy currently uses Olympus Pen F with following lenses:

– Olympus M. Zuiko 25mm f/1.8
– Olympus M. Zuiko 45mm f/1.8

She edits the photos with Adobe Photoshop CC 2017 and Lightroom 5.

Hey, go check out some really good dim sum and hakka noodles at this new stall in Pasarmoi at the Mall of Indonesia in Kelapa Gading. Very good dim sum (one of the best I’ve tried in Indonesia to-date) and nice hakka noodles that melt in your mouth. They’ve just opened 11 November 2016 and I’ve eaten there 3 times already!!! Go check it out.

By the way, the stall is called Hakka Kitchen in the lower ground floor of the Mall Of Indonesia in Kelapa Gading.
