Hi everyone! We are back after a long absence with a hotel review that might be useful for you who happen to have business trips or just want to find somewhere good for short getaway! π
We first knew about this hotel when we visited the Karawang branch of SAKANA Japanese Restaurant (the more well known branch is located inside MidPlaza 1 building) and we decided to have a staycation in this hotel to avoid (possible) traffic jam if we went back to Jakarta in the same day. Our first stay was back in October last year, but we really love this place so we had another staycation last February with family.
Honestly, I had never been to Karawang before I visited this hotel, although surprisingly it is not that far from Jakarta (approx. 76 km distance through Jakarta-Cikampek highway). If we go earlier from Jakarta, the highway is pretty smooth and it will take about 1,5 hours to reach there. However, it can be a little tricky since there is not enough road sign to the hotel and Googlemap only provides way for motorcycles (duh!). The thing is, exit the highway in KM 47 and you’re on the right track!
Or… since the hotel is located inside a golf club complex, you can also ask the people nearby about the Sedana Golf complex and you’ll easily find it.
From outside, DELONIX has a typical stiff and boring architecture style that is a trademark of Japanese-built buildings, but thanks to the greens and natural decorations, it looks much beautiful and inviting. For example, the koi pond in the middle of building right next to the reception lobby is a great addition that gives a strong Japanese vibe without looking too much.
DELONIX has many types of rooms but you can choose between Garden View or Golf View Room. For our stays, we chose similar room of Golf View Premier, which is priced at around IDR 800,000/night (taxes included).
Golf View Premier room has a spacious 42 sqm area, including large bedroom and lounge area, kitchenette, and balcony. The first time I walked walked into the room, I was surprised to see how spacious the room is. I didn’t expect the room to be so, errr… empty? In a good way, of course. The minimal color combinations are really easy to the eyes and I felt so comfortable immediately.
Beside the large lounge sofa, there is also a simple yet elegant desk by the side of the room. Apparently, DELONIX hotel is also famous for long-term stays since the rooms provide almost everything necessary for daily living.
The kitchenette is quite impressive because they provide not only fridge, but also water dispenser (we can purchase the gallon water in the reception for IDR 25,000) and microwave! Like, seriously. You can count this place like a studio apartment because they have everything.
Everything looks so tidy, organized, and spacious here in the room, lovely!
Then the bathroom. Well, I totally love the bathroom because all rooms in this hotel come with bathtubs and shower combined in the same room, just like in Japan. In Japan, before getting into bathtub, Japanese usually shower first to clean their bodies. That’s why you probably ever noticed that the same water in the bathtub can be used by all family members, usually from the oldest to the youngest.
I personally really like this kind of bathroom, and I always bring my bath powder whenever I stay here. The bathtub is simple and has a square shape, it’s pretty big and very comfortable to relax the head as well. π
DELONIX has a cafe near the pool called Miami Cafe, which is designed quite fashionably, chic and elegant, with a touch of nature. It can be quite warm since it is semi outdoor, but well, it’s cozy and beautiful. We didn’t try anything from this cafe but we heard stories that they have some really cool menu worth checking for. Maybe next time!
The pool area is beautiful and serene, I don’t know it’s just me or what, but the water looked extremely blue. Perhaps it’s the Karawang’s sky, unlike Jakarta’s gray sky, the pool is very inviting. The depth is only 1.2 meters but they don’t have children pool. If you stay here, we suggest waking up early in the morning and enjoy the super fine pool!
The other special thing about DELONIX hotel is that they offer a special facility called OFFURO. Ofuro in Japanese means bath, and here there is a spacious Japanese ofuro with a size of 136 sqm containing natural hot spring water from mountain to unwind and relax, the Japanese way. We don’t have the picture because we didn’t try it, but if you have ever watched any Japanese dramas/movies or anime, most likely you’ve ever seen one. Too bad the ofuro here only allows men to enter, so I couldn’t try it. The thing is, it’s pretty strict when it comes to ofuro rules since the guests are required to take all their clothes off when entering the bath. Dare to try? XD
Our staycations in DELONIX were very memorable and we felt that every moments were totally worth the money. Frankly speaking, the room rates are pretty cheap for what we experienced there, and we really recommend this hotel for short getaway with location not so far from Jakarta. We really hope to be back soon!
