Sushi has been a popular choice for locals especially because it very much resembles what Indonesians eat regularly, rice with something else as company. And nowadays, although there are so many Japanese and local restaurants serving various kind of sushi, finding a good sushi place with affordable price sometimes can be a bit tricky. I’ve found some affordable (or even cheap) ones in Jakarta, with super bad quality ingredients and teeny-weeny sizes, so I usually stick to the mainstream ones. 
Last week or earlier, I went to this recently-opened shopping mall in Bintaro called Bintaro Jaya Xchange Mall, and when looking for a dinner, I decided to stop by this sushi place named Haikara Sushi. The outlet was still new during my visit, but they already have other outlets spread around South Jakarta (Barito) and some other areas. The place is not big but they have both indoor and outdoor seating areas, with the sushi counter in the middle. The tables are small and chairs aren’t the most comfortable ones, but at least they do the job. XD 

Menu varies from sushi and sashimi (both original and fusion), ramen and udon, rice menu, and also some kids bento. Prices are very affordable to the point of cheap in term of sushi, starting from IDR 10K to 60K only! And we thought we couldn’t expect too much about the taste, size, or the quality, but boy, we were wrong! We ordered quite a lot and along the way we couldn’t help but ordering more and more, LOL! It’s not that kind of incredibly delicious sushi but for their prices, those were amazingly good, honest.

Overall, we think that Haikara Sushi serves decent sushi and other Japanese food in general. The main highlight is that their prices are so cheap that some of them don’t even make sense to me, in a good way 😉 I will definitely come back and hopefully the quality doesn’t degrade as time goes by!
