As this is the last day of 2014 and in few more hours, we’ll start a new year ahead, I am here writing this post to recap everything that happened in 2014.
First of all, I wanna say THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to all of you who have been visiting and reading this blog until now. *bow down deeply*
Yes, I started this blog with Mr. K back in 2010 but it’s not until this year (2014) that we go so much more active than the previous years. In the first years, I was still a medical student with loads of works and shifts to do, I barely had time blogging, not mentioning that we were not married yet and we couldn’t go out too often due to the distance of our living places. As in 2013, we practically lived in Bali with not-so-good internet connection, I admit I wasn’t really in the mood of uploading photos and regularly updated this blog. But when we came back to Jakarta, boom! Hello, fast internet connection! <33
This year also remarks the first time we accepted a blogger food tasting invitation on February 2014. Food Escape has been invited for various events and food tasting sessions since 2011, but due to our schedules, we could never make it in the past. Until today, I am so thankful that I got to meet the bloggers I knew online, in person; and managed to be friends with some of them offline.
Before I even continue with more speech *ahem*, let’s see what we claim as the:

Blue Monkey is ultimate #1 in Mr. K’s list for 2014’s Best Finds, as he fell in love to the place, the food, and all the creativities offered by it. Treeangelo is a coffee shop I found accidentally and it has been my #1 pick for “nongkrong” (hang out) place, because the place is just so comfortable like home. Beside the good place, it also serves great food and coffee, and the cold-brew tea a.k.a. Silver Moon Drip is definitely a must-try when you visit this place!

RoCA is located inside ARTOTEL Thamrin Jakarta and beside it’s fabulous and artistic interior (and exterior) design, we found that the food are very good and served in relatively generous portions. There is also smoking area which looks so beautiful and is a good scene for taking photos! In short, dining in RoCA is a feast to the eyes and the tummy <33

Only God knows how excited I was when I heard that one of my favorite French bakery finally opens in Jakarta! This is definitely the highlight of the year, and also remarks my loveliest experience in the year being able to meet the Master Baker, Eric Kayser, himself during the grand opening event. Until now I have made countless visits to the restaurant and so far it has never failed me even once.

Popolamama which originally comes from Japan, claims to be “The First Fresh Pasta & Napoli Pizza Chain”, while fresh pasta here means that rather than using dried or packaged pasta, they use fresh ones that are made from durum semollina wheat. The pasta dishes are great but I would recommend their pizzas more, we truly love them! And have I told you they have the best service ever?

Last but not least, Trafique Coffee definitely is in the list of our favorites this year as the beautiful coffee house is very close to our home, serves great coffee, green tea latte, and THE BEST CARROT CAKE in Jakarta, in our humble opinion!
