Some weeks ago when I was in Pacific Place area, I stopped by this restaurant because I wanted to eat some Indian food. I knew about this place for quite some time but didn’t know that they have another branch in PP. I saw one across Grand Lucky supermarket, but found out that it was closed down already.
The restaurant is separated into two areas, inside and outside. The inside area is quite small, so choosing the outside area was an excellent choice. Design is modern minimalist, dominated with wood-themed furniture. The tables are made from (seemingly) cheap wood, very light-weighted, and they keep moving when we were eating or just putting our arms on them. Good news is they’re clean.
So as I read from the menu book, Samy’s Curry is a restaurant specializing in South Indian cuisines, founded around 1950’s in Singapore. It was listed as one of Top 50 Restaurant Award in 2008 by Singapore Business Review. What could go wrong with such restaurant, right?
Curry Chicken – IDR 18.500+++

Briyani Rice – IDR 12.000+++

Mutton Martabak (Small) – IDR 45.000+++

Tissue Prata & Garlic Prata – IDR 15.000+++/each

Teh Tarik Cold – IDR 15.900+++
Honestly, I wasn’t impressed by the food at all. Some of them are pretty tasteless and bland, contrary to what I expected from Indian food. The mutton martabak was alright, a bit too sweet for me, though.
