Since our staycation in Hotel Indonesia Kempinski Jakarta last year, it has somehow become a “routine” for us to spend the weekend having hotel staycations. We don’t normally travel outside Jakarta unless we have longer holidays but we think the staycations at the hotels in Jakarta and surrounding areas (Bogor, Bandung etc) is also a good idea as we usually spend quality time in the 2 Days 1 Night “vacation”.
This time, I am gonna write about our 2D1N staycation at Hotel Pullman Jakarta Indonesia Thamrin CBD back on 7-8 February 2015. I know it was quite long time ago since it’s June already, but late is better than never, right? XD *lame excuse*
Pullman itself is the high-end international brand of the ACCOR Group, mainly targeted at cosmopolitan travelers who have wide connections and enjoy combining work and pleasure. Located in the world’s most vibrant global cities and most sought-after tourist destinations, Pullman 4-star and 5-star hotels and resorts welcome modern-day adventurers, nomads and explorers, traveling on their own or with like-minded companions and associates, for business or pleasure.
In Jakarta only, there are 2 Pullman hotels, one is here in Thamrin, and another one is Pullman Jakarta Central Park, which is located adjacent to Central Park Mall in West Jakarta. This one in Thamrin used to be known as Nikko Hotel and located just in the right spot of Bundaran HI, opposite to Japanese Embassy and The Plaza.
We picked the Grand Deluxe Room (priced at IDR 2,783,000/night including tax) because apparently these Grand Deluxe rooms had just been renovated in last quarter of 2014. The 43 sqm room comes with complimentary high-speed WIFI, Connectivity Panel, 40″ LCD TV, in-room Espresso Machine, bathtub and separate shower. Don’t forget the City view!
For a 43 sqm room, I must say I was impressed by the spacious feeling of the room. It’s good that most all the area is occupied for the bedroom. Like typical modern minimalist hotel, the room has minimum colors and simple decorations, making the room looks clean, “easy on the eyes” and comfortable enough to sleep.
As the former Nikko Hotel was very popular amongst Japanese travelers and businessmen, the story continues for Pullman Thamrin as well. Beside a king-sized bed, there is also a sofa near the window, also a desk with complete electrical outlets and switches for work-related purposes. It’s one of the highlights staying in business hotels because I love seeing all the gadgets-oriented system, LOL.
Moving on to the bathroom.
I wasn’t surprised to see the not-so-spacious bathroom, but it has a bathtub. I have been in some business hotels before and the bathrooms are always mostly NOT my favorite, but here the bathroom is comfortable enough. You probably wonder why bathrooms are so important for me, but well, during staycation, I really love having some “me-time” in the bathrooms, including spending long time in bubble bath and refreshing myself with a nice shower afterwards. It’s not like there is no bathtub at home, but the feeling is different in hotels. XD Therefore, a hotel room with bathtub is always a big plus for me.
For the amenities, they use the world renowned brand, C.O. Bigelow, which is the oldest Apothecary Shop in USA since 1838.
When the night came, the view from the windows were just beautiful. It’s amazing that in this part of Jakarta, the city seems to be alive through the night. The cars kept passing by until we fell asleep watching at them.
It was a great stay at Pullman Thamrin Jakarta. Wishing to come back and stay longer there someday.
Stayed on: 7-8 February 2015
