Few weeks ago, we got the opportunity to try the newly-revamped Weekend Brunch All-You-Can-Eat menu at Bengawan Restaurant, Keraton at The Plaza Jakarta. We have been here few times and we really enjoy the scrumptious extensive buffet, especially the authentic Mexican cuisine station which is nicely created by Chef Lamberto Valdez.

The newly-revamped Weekend Brunch now gets a lot better with additional live grill station, seafood & shellfish bar, caviar station, mouthwatering desserts (including macaron live cooking), and an endless pour of Billecart-Salmon Champagne. This Brunch menu is available every Saturday & Sunday, from 12PM to 3PM.

Our first indulgence was from this live caviar station with sturia classic, salmon roe and blinis.

Blinis are yeasted pancake traditionally come from Russia, made from buckwheat flour and typically served with caviar. The appearance, flavor and texture are simply similar to regular pancake, only the small size giving them a cuter look, and it’s interesting to have these as “fulfilling snack”. XD

A live grill station featuring Lobster Thermidor, Kobe beef, Fresh Fine de Claire oysters from France, Alaskan king crab, and scallops on the shell.

Not forgetting the pan-fried foie gras served a la tapas, interesting!

With all the additional new stations, surely I still made space for their Mexican food station. The station however, became much smaller and there was almost nothing left beside taco shell and the ingredients. But thank God, the guacamole was still the same as always! THE BEST!

Mexican guitar, anyone? XD
