Kyochon is yet another restaurant chain originated from South Korea that sells fried chicken, with the main menu of chicken wings. The first store was opened in 1991 in Gumi, South Korea, and nowadays there are about 1000 stores worldwide. Not only popular in South Korea, Kyochon also gains success in USA, China, Thailand, and now Indonesia. On April 1st, 2014, the 3rd outlet of Kyochon Indonesia opened in Gandaria City, after the previous two in Pacific Place and Kota Kasablanka. This outlet is the largest compared to the others, nested in a 170 sqm area with 106 seating capacity.

Complimentary Pickled Turnip, rather sweet but refreshing.

Kyochon’s Principles

Kyochon Combo 3 IDR 64.000

Comes with 4 wings, 1 drumstick, green salad (S), 1 rice and 1 soda drink. We can choose original or red sauce for the chicken, and I chose original. For the rice, we can also change it with butter rice with additional IDR 4K. The chicken were exceptionally good, with nice crisps and very aromatic.

Sal Sal Strip (S) IDR 35.000

This is basically similar to chicken strips that we already know. Like other menu, it has options of servings: S, M or L, indicating how many pieces of chicken. I ordered S so it only contains of 4 strips, but each piece was quite big and long. The chicken strips pleased me so much especially with the crisps and taste. It came with separated sweet sauce, but I liked it better without any. Love it.

Red Wings (S) IDR 35.000

S contains of 5 pieces of wings. Didn’t have so much expectation when ordering, turned out to be one of the most delicious seasoned wings that I have ever eaten. The red wings were literally red with generous amount of sauce, very hot and spicy! The highlight is that the wings were still very crispy despite of being so “wet” of sauce. If you enjoy spicy food, then here is one for you!

Learned from the website that all chicken in Kyochon are double-fried in canola oil, 100% transfat-free to a perfect crisp, then individually brushed with signature soy garlic sauce, hot sweet sauce and honey sauce. So that’s what makes their chicken so good!

Korean Tea & Green Tea @IDR 13.000

After Super Junior, Lee Min Ho is now the new ambassador of Kyochon.
