Today I finally got the opportunity to visit Blumchen Coffee, a place that I have been hearing about so many times from friends and colleagues. It isn’t difficult to find the coffee shop because it’s located in the Fairground Plaza in SCBD (used to be Bengkel Nightpark) and just across Grand Lucky Supermarket.

When we entered the cafe, a strong smell of coffee totally hypnotized us for a while. I must say it smelled so good! The place is not too big but the interior is quite nice, very comfortable to just enjoy your coffee and relax. It looks a bit messy, though; but very artistic. When we came today, though, seems like they were preparing for a TV recording so it looked even messier with all the cameras, cable, cables and all the equipments on the floor.

When I was making my orders, I noticed that so many things are Korean related, such as products, wordings and many other stuffs. Later I found out that Blumchen Coffee is actually owned by Korean. Nowadays, I think almost everything owned by Koreans, LOL. The owner has many antiques that he got from Jalan Surabaya, and have them displayed in the cafe. One interesting is you can actually buy coffee-related items in the cafe, such as coffee filters, and many things.
Blumchen Coffee uses the finest green coffee bean from Sumatra. Honestly, I don’t know much about coffee although I enjoy drinking them. So let’s try!
Ice Frappe Caramel – IDR 36.000++

“French Kiss” Coffee Latte – IDR 35.000++

Blumchen “Spicy” Coffee – IDR 35.000++

“True Love” Latte – IDR 35.000++

So beautiful!

Additional sugar if needed.

Chocolate Croissant – IDR 15.000++
The coffee are DELICIOUS. I mean, seriously delicious. They are strong, real coffee, and I really enjoyed every sip that I took. It was only two of us but we ordered 2 more cups because they were just soooo good. Now I understand why our friends keep gushing about this coffee shop so many times. My personal favorite is the “French Kiss”, with the choco-vanilla syrup topped with whipped cream, the taste was perfect. My least favorite would be the Spicy coffee, which uses many kinds of spices. I loved the spices (cinnamon etc) but the coffee tasted bleh, like burnt coffee. The croissant was heavenly delicious. It was so soft and yummy, I can’t even stop thinking about it until now.
I love the place, love the service and definitely recommend this place. I myself am not a coffee lover nor addict, but I would definitely love coming here again to enjoy some nice coffee and have a good time!
